Students from various Monroe County schools participated in a 3-D art exhibition created from single-use plastic. Following a showcase on Earth Day in Marathon, the final display will be at the I CARE Trash Derby Celebration at Founder’s Park, where the art will help share the students’ message about protecting the Florida Keys environment. It feels especially meaningful to connect the students’ work to the Trash Derby, which represents a significant Keys-wide effort to remove debris from our waters and shorelines.
